Frequently Asked Questions

Clear answers about planning, booking, payments, flights, insurance, and support for your personalized journey to Colombia.

Planning and Booking

These answers provide general guidance. Your personalized proposal and booking terms will contain the details that apply to your specific journey.

Is Colombia safe to visit?

Travel conditions vary by destination and season. Travelatino plans each journey carefully using selected providers, private transportation where appropriate, practical destination guidance, and an itinerary tailored to the traveler’s comfort level. We also recommend that travelers review current Government of Canada travel advice before departure.

Can I customize every part of my trip?

Yes. Dates, pace, destinations, hotel category, experiences, transportation, and special interests can be adjusted around your preferences and approximate budget. Suggested trips are starting points rather than fixed packages.

How do payments work?

Travelatino charges a CAD $199 design fee to begin the detailed planning process. Once you approve the proposal, the standard booking deposit is 30%, with the remaining balance generally due 30 days before travel. Your final proposal and booking terms will confirm the exact payment schedule.

Are flights included?

Flights are not automatically included in the land package. Travelatino may coordinate air arrangements through an authorized Canadian host agency or air partner, and the traveler pays that provider directly. The land itinerary can still be planned independently of the flights.

Do I need travel insurance?

Travel insurance is strongly recommended. Depending on the available authorized provider and the traveler’s province, insurance may be offered during the booking process. Travelers who decline coverage may be asked to confirm that decision in writing.

What support will I receive before and during the trip?

Before departure, travelers receive planning support, confirmations, a complete itinerary, vouchers, and practical travel information. During the journey, Travelatino provides the contact and support arrangements listed in the final travel documents, including emergency guidance when applicable.
